This place is in Thirunangur itself; the moolavar is Sri Senganmal Ranganathan, in a reclining posture with four hands and facing east and the thaayar is Sri Sengamala Valli. There is no legend available for this place except for the fact that this temple is called Ambalam which is the word commonly used for temples in Kerala only. This god has come from Sri Rangam. It is believed that by worshipping this god a devotee can obtain power in government. Thiru Mangaiazhwar has sung in praise of this Lord.
