It is believed that when Sri Sadguru swamigal was performing pradakshinam in Varadharaja puram temple in Govindapuram, he happened to discover a rare book titled "Nama Koumudi'' which turned out to be a source of information to chant the name of Sri Rama Nama. He considered Sri Bodendra swamigal as his Sri Manasika Guru. He also founded the Jeeva Samadhi of Sri Bodendra Swamigal and built the present Brindavan at Govindapuram.
