This temple is situated on the Tanjore Nagpattinam trunk road abouttwelve km from Tanjore. The deity is as famous as Sri Samayapuram Mariamman. Unlike Samayapuram the priests of this temple are brahmins. It is believed that the perspiration is seen on the idol during summer months and because of this she is able to protect her devotees from small pox and chicken pox.
