PARUTHIYUR PERIYAVA SMARANAM -MAHAPERIYAVA CHARANAM
The belief is that, on visiting a Lord Vishnu temple for the month of Puratasi is equal to going to temple for the whole year. Puratasi Masam is of great importance, as it is believed that Lord Venkateswara (Balaji) appeared on the earth in this month. This month is also special for Sun and Sani worship. Visiting Paruthiyur Perumal is considered very auspicious for those horoscopes with sun-shani mutual aspects. During the nine nights and ten days of Puratasi Sharada Navaratri, all forms of female divinities are worshiped. Navratri is an important major festival and is celebrated with great zeal all over India.
Navaratri-Dasara Festival October 12 to October 22, 2015
Dasara worship at Paruthiyur begins with pujas on Mahalaya Amavasa honoring our ancestors and ends with Vijayadasami, commemorating Rama's victory over Ravana, with special puja for Paruthiyur Ramar on both these days and worship of Paruthiyur periyava's Mahalakshmi Thayar and Vishalakshi Ambal during the nine days of Navaratri.
10.00 AM: Festival Thirumanjana Pujas Each Morning
Purusha Shuktam, Vishnu Sahasranamam during Sri Rama Pujas.
Sri Shuktam, Lalitha Sahasranamam, Lakshmi Ashtotras during Thayar Pujas.
11.00 AM: Alankaram, Aradhanai and Archanas
12.00 Noon: Mahaneivedyam & Mahamangala Aarti
Devotees are welcome to bring oil, milk, rose water, paneer, abhishekam powders, garlands, archana things etc and join the morning worship.
5.00 PM: Navaratri Sandhya Darshan & Archanas
Devotee are welcome to Chant Lalitha Sahasranama, Astotras and Songs
6.30 PM With the blessings of Swami Dayananda Saraswati of Arsha Vidya Peetam, Dharma Rakshana Samiti Presents, Hindu Dharma Lectures & Interactive Workshops.
