Sri Vikraman Perumal - Thiru Kazhicheervinnakaram Sirkazhi, Nagapattinam District, Tamil Nadu, Indi

This temple is situated in Sirkazhi. The Moolavar is Sri Trivikrama, also known as Tadazhan; in standing posture facing east and the Thaayar is Loganayaki. This place was known as Padalika Vanam and also Uttamakshetram. The legend is that Lord Brahma was extremely proud of his longevity. A Sage named Sri Urumeshar wanted to lessen Sri Brahma's pride and did penance to Lord Sri Vishnu. Sri Vishnu appeared before the Sage and told him that the lifespan of Sri Brahma will come down by one year if one hair falls from the Sages body. One year for Brahma is one Yugam for the human beings. Having obtained such a boon, Urumeshar told Brahma that his life for one day is equal to one hair on his head, which subdued his pride. Sage Vishwamithra performed Yaga at this place just like Mahabali; theYaga was protected by his desciples Sri Rama and Lakshmana. Out of the 108 Divya Deshams only five have received the name Vinnagaram; these are: Parmeshwara Vinnagaram, Kazhicheer Vinnagaram, Harimeya Vinnagaram, Vaikunta Vinnagaram and Nandi Pura Vinnagaram. Once this temple was about to collapse, when an old lady took the Utsavar Vigraham and kept in a pot and covered it with paddy husk thvadu). Every day she would take out the Vigraham, perform pooja, and replace it back in the pot. Once the temple was renovated, the idol was put back in its original spot. Thus, this God is also known as Thavitu Paane Thadazhan. At this place Lord Sri Vishnu gave darshan to Urumeshar in Sri Trivikrama Form.
