SUMMING UP.
The ancient Temple of Sri Visalakshi Sametha Sri Kasi Viswanathar Temple in Tiruvisalur village is located is on the northern bank of River Cauvery and about 10 km away from Kumbakonam enroute to Myladuthurai by road.
On Sunday, Feb 8,2015, morning , the Sun slowly begins to rise to witness a historic event in the eastern end of Thiruvisalur Agraharam. The vedic chants fill the cool air in the Yagasala of Sri Visalakshi Ambika Sametha Sri Viswanatha Swamy Temple. Hundreds fit around silently devouring the chants.
At 8:30 a.m. the chief Sivacharya announces that the time has come for the event for which they have been waiting for so long. A few minutes later the Sivacharyas carrying the brass Kudams containing the sanctified watrer on their heads climb the wooden scaffold with Nadaswara Vidwans playing Mangala Isai.The procession reaches the Vimanas. Shortly thereafter at 9.45 a.m. the sanctified water is poured on the Kalasams of Viswanathar, Visalakshi , Ganesha, Subramaniya,
Dakshinamurthy, Chandikeshwarar. Thousands of hands go up the reverence and ecstacy at
witnessing a momentous occasion in their lives – Kumbhabhishekam of The temple.
The holy water is sprinkled on the heads of multitude of devotees gathered around the temple.
Poojas and Annadhanam to all devotees then follows.In the evening sandhana kappu to moolavar and Ambikai, Thirukalyanam, procession of Swamy and Ambikai, a grand finale to the tireless efforts
of Sri Rajamani Gurukkal – the Heriditory priest of the temple. May the bountiful blessings of Sri Viswanathar and Sri Visalakshi be showered to everyone who could not attend this gracious occassion.
